- Shannon Chaplin, manager of the Salvation Army thrift store in Bennington, stands beneath a missing ceiling tile where an owl was perched Tuesday. The bird, which first appeared on Saturday, has flown in and out of the store several times in recent days, according to Chaplin. State fish and wildlife officials have been contacted, she said.
