Smokey, a miniature Sicilian donkey, wears a blaze orange necklace and is dusted with chalk to ward off hunters as he roams the Strohmaier farm in Pownal. Smokey's wandering ways have led neighbors along Middle Pownal Road to dub him a "bad ass."
