A fire of undetermined origin destroyed a house beloinging to Phil and Carol Simon in Woodford Lake Estates on Monday. A firefighter suffering from heat exhaustion was led to a waiting ambulance.

Seven people escaped injury when a fire destroyed this trailer Sunday morning off Route 9 in Woodford. The occupants, Chad and Penny Jones, their two daughters, ages 2 and 3, and Chad's brother, Kyle, lost everything they own, including three cats, two rabbits and a gerbil. "We have no clothes, we have no food," said Penny Jones. Chad Jones asked that anyone willing to help the family call him at 802-733-2346. A fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
