Smoking ban debated

  • The Bennington Select Board discussed a proposed ordinance Monday that would ban smoking on public lands in town. Kiah Morris, coordinator of the Tobacco-Free Community Partnership, displayed a jar filled with cigarette butts collected at a local park. Bruce Lee-Clark, a pre-law teacher at the Southwest Vermont Career Development Center, explained changes made to the ordinance by his students.
